Privacy Policy

Your pay details stay on your device. Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript — your salary, pay rise, KiwiSaver rate, student loan status and bonus amounts are never transmitted to us, never written to our database and never sold or shared with anyone.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not require an email address to use any calculator.

• Saved scenarios. If you save a pay rise scenario to compare it later, that scenario is stored in your own browser's local storage. Clearing your browser data removes it. We cannot see it.
• Share links. When you copy a share link, the figures are encoded into the URL itself. Only people you send that link to can open it.

The site shows a running count of how many pay rise calculations have been made. This is a single number — a counter incremented when a calculation completes. It contains no salary figures, no identifiers and nothing that could be traced back to you.

Payrise NZ is a free site funded by advertising. We use Google AdSense, and Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.

Like every website, our hosting provider records standard technical request data — IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time. This is used for security, abuse prevention and to understand which pages are popular. We do not attempt to identify individuals from it, and we do not combine it with anything you type into a calculator.

We also use Google Search Console, which reports anonymised, aggregated search queries and click counts for our pages.

The New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 gives you the right to ask what personal information an organisation holds about you, and to request correction of it. Because we do not collect personal information through our calculators, in almost all cases we hold nothing about you. If you have contacted us by email, we hold that email thread.

To ask about, correct or delete anything we hold, email help@payrisenz.app and we will respond within 20 working days.

Payrise NZ is a general-interest financial information site aimed at working adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

If we change how the site works — for example by adding a new advertising partner — we will update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be noted on the home page.
