Payrise NZ

Terms of Use

Last updated August 2026. By using payrisenz.app you agree to these terms. They are written in plain English on purpose.

What Payrise NZ is

Payrise NZ is a free set of New Zealand pay and tax calculators and explanatory guides. It estimates PAYE, the ACC earners' levy, KiwiSaver contributions, student loan repayments and the effect of a pay rise or bonus, using publicly available rates and thresholds.

It is an information tool. It is not a payroll system, not a tax return, and not a substitute for advice from Inland Revenue, your payroll team or a chartered accountant.

Estimates only

All results are estimates. Real payslips can differ for many legitimate reasons: mid-year pay changes, tax code changes, payroll giving, ESCT tiers, KiwiSaver savings suspensions, Working for Families, child support or IRD deductions, salary sacrifice arrangements, extra pay periods in a year, and the way your employer rounds each pay period.

Never make a financial commitment — a mortgage application, a resignation, a large purchase — on the basis of a number from this site alone. Confirm it against your actual payslip or with Inland Revenue.

Acceptable use

  • You may use the calculators for personal or business purposes, free of charge.
  • You may link to any page on this site, and you may quote short extracts with attribution and a link.
  • You may not scrape, republish or mirror substantial parts of the site, or present our calculators as your own product, without written permission.
  • You may not attempt to disrupt the site, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or use automated tools to generate artificial traffic or ad impressions.

Intellectual property

The calculator logic, written guides, layout, name and logo are owned by Payrise NZ. Tax rates, thresholds and wage rates themselves are public information published by Inland Revenue, MBIE, ACC and Stats NZ, and are not claimed as ours.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep rates current and the maths correct, but we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate in every case.

To the extent permitted by law, Payrise NZ is not liable for any loss, cost or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 where that Act applies.

External links and advertising

We link to official sources such as ird.govt.nz and mbie.govt.nz for verification. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content. Advertising displayed on this site is served by third parties; the presence of an ad is not an endorsement.
